GOLDEN GUYS

The Golden Guys’ Story

In October 2019, Daniel Hoffmann —a physician assitant in the pediatric ER at OLOL— donned a homemade LSU Golden Girl costume and posed for a series of photos across LSU campus. The photos of the so-called "Golden Boy" went viral and the Golden Guys were born.

Hoffmann was clear on what the Golden Guys' mission should be from the start: to support Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital and give back to the community he's a part of.

The spirit troupe brings together men of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds to promote the cause and build confidence in the people of Baton Rouge. They've participated in the Spanish Town Parade, LSU tailgates, the Brawl at the Beach Charity Dance-Off, and have already raised more than $10,000 for the Children's Hospital.

My Role

I’ve gone from photographer and extra-set-of-hands, to Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Golden Guys. This means everything from fundraising, event planning, and planning social media to manning the camera, lending a hand at parade events, and managing board meeting agendas.

The Golden Guys have grown from a fun set of photos to a movement, and I’m proud to have been a part of it. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook at @GoldenGuys225 or visit GoldenGuys225.com to keep up with current events or support the cause.
